June 2015

At the beginning of June, we were off for our next job interview in Omak, Washington. Matt's friend Travis worked for a group there and had a lot of good things to say about it, especially the pay! So, we were excited to see if this would work out. We flew in to Wenatchee, WA and had to drive about 2 hours to Omak. There were a lot of pretty sites on the way there, but when we got to Omak... yikes. Scorched Earth. Dry. Desolate. Bleh. But we kept an open mind.

Landed in Seattle

Walking out to our tiny plane to Wenatchee.

The hotel had a pool. But other than that, there wasn't much to take pictures of. When Matt wasn't spending time at the clinic and we weren't at a dinner party with the other providers, we spent all our time scoping out the house scene and trying to figure out which of the neighboring towns we'd want to live in. Okanogan? Brewster? Bridgeport? Twisp?

The day we were heading back to the airport, we made a detour to a town called Winthrop, which is all done in Old West style. It was a really cute place!

 Ice-cream!

Look at that resemblance!

Good-bye Winthrop!

Driving back to Wenatchee.

A pregnancy test in May told us we were pregnant after 7 months of trying. But this is when I got in to my midwife to confirm it. Yay!!!

We weren't home for long before we packed in the van for another little vacay. This time to Hurricane to spend time with our best buds.

After an extremely bumpy and kinda scary ride, we had a great time at the Touquerville Falls.

Paddleboarding at Sand Hollow Reservoir.

The last game as a Turnpike!

Back at home. Now was the time to get all moved out of our house. We had to be out by the end of the month. (This view from the city park looking back at our neighborhood always seemed so pretty to me. I miss it!)

A little Ryan Shupe at Farmington Days, 2nd year in a row.

We decided to have a going-away get together with our Foxboro friends at Mueller Park. At this point, we knew we weren't getting offered the job in Washington, but did get offered the one in Twin Falls (more specifically, Buhl). We knew how much we were going to miss these guys!

All our kids, minus Summer.

Toasting mallows

Fathers' Day visits. This is when we announced our pregnancy!

Covey lost his first tooth! It had been loose since March and it finally came out. He was freaked out by the blood but soon got excited at the prospect of a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

He even wrote her  a note.

The YW leaders and girls gave me a nice surprise before my last mutual night with them (glow-in-the-dark volleyball). This poster, a card, and a cute necklace. They were awesome!

The last day of June was spent loading up the last of our furniture and taking it to the storage shed. We had some serious help from some seriously awesome people: my dad, Nate Wise, and the Howard boys. The boys got a kick out of seeing the vehicles up on the lawn. See Covey sitting out on the sidewalk watching?
