Covey's 6th birthday was a lot of fun. First, he and I (and Cheetah) went to breakfast.
On the way home, we stopped by a church parking lot and he got to steer the car around for awhile
While we were thus engaged, Dad set up the decorations, food, and activities in the church gym. Covey had no idea we were planning a party. I told him we needed to pick something up from the church and when we opened the gym door and everyone yelled "SURPRISE!!" he was a little scared and took a couple steps back. Then he slowly got a smile and ran in and gave all his friends a big hug. It was pretty cute.
Along with Pin the Mood on Baymax and Build Your Own Robot, they raced a remote control car through the streets of San Fransokyo, an obstacle course Matt set up. The kids had snacks, drinks, cupcakes and played "Heavy heavy hang over thy poor head" as they gave Covey his presents. So simple and low key, but Covey still talks about that party.
Driving his new car home.
Later, we went to Boondocks and let the boys have their fill of arcade games, mini golf, bumper boats, laser tag, go karts and the batting cages.
When we got home, Grandma Lori was there to have cake and ice cream with us.
What an awesome 6 year old! He is so smart and imaginitive and caring. We love you, Covey!
Also in March: Science experiments, Finn saying his prayers by himself, and FHE with the Larsons.
Sick boys
He got a letter from Uncle Nick in the mail for his birthday and he wouldn't let go of it!
