Girlfriends and Father's Day

This past weekend I got to see my closest girlfriends from my alma mater, Bonneville High. Amanda, who lives in Vegas, and Audra, who lives in Carthage, IL, were both in Utah. On Thursday, we met at Amanda's parents' house to see Audra, who was leaving the next day. I can't believe this is the only picture of Audra I got, Sorry! She looks exactly the same as she did in high school, totally beautiful. And that's her 5 yr old son, Owen. Covey just loved Owen and followed him around wherever he went.
After seeing Owen blow this horn-thing, Covey gave it a whirl. Hearing the sound he made come out of it was the real kicker.
"BAAAA" right in Owen's face!
All of our kids together. Amanda's daughters, Madison and Molly joining the boys for a photo. (Covey sure looks grumpy, I think Madie was giving him a wedgie.)
Friday night, we met at my mom's house for a bridal shower/sleepover. We totally felt 15 again. Sue's on the left, she's getting married in a couple weeks. LeAnna's on the right and she made Sue that totally awesome Bridal Barbie Cake.

Me, Amanda, Lee, Sue, and Raechel.
Amanda made this awesome slideshow DVD with pictures of all of us from Jr High and High School. It was so great. I tried to post it but couldn't get it to work.
This is the Barbie free from that heavy dress. "Whew, that feels better."
It was so fun to stay up til 2 in the morning talking with these girls. It felt so good to be with them again.
Yesterday, me and Covey discovered a bird in our garage. No big deal, kinda fun, right? Not for Matt. He was freaked out and wanted that bird outta there! Apparently he's afraid of birds. After 7 years of marriage, I never knew that! He didn't want to leave and liked hiding amongst our storage so much it took quite a while and a couple different attempts to get him out. Can you see him on top of that box, near the ceiling?
In between bird removal attempts, we took Covey to the Humane Society to feed the dogs some bones. I was worried that all the barking would scare him. Wrong again. He loved it and loved feeding the dogs and wandering through the aisles pointing out different dogs. Too cute!
"He ate it!"

Happy Father's Day, Matt! Covey loves you so much that he bought you this grill. It looks like you were made for each other.

Matt, reading, while basking in his grill's warm embrace.
And a "Happy Father's Day" to our dads, Mike and Terry. We love you so much and are grateful to have you as our dads and Covey's grandpas. You're the best!

That Barbie sure did look relieved. Did Matt strike that pose when the bird left? Ella thinks Covey is so lucky to have water buckets--we only have sand buckets, apparently.

Katie is a sand bucket. I think you were being a little generous with the 15 comment, no?!?! Matt should have fed that bird to the dogs.
