Hello, Matt here. Just wanted to add my two cents on the experience of a life time. I know I already used that declaration after seeing the most recent Harry Potter movie, but I'd like to rescind that statement now due to the circumstances if you don't mind.
First off, Julia is amazing and I'm so proud of her, especially after watching her attempt to make her eyes pop out of her head for over an hour and half. But that excruciating experience isn't the half of the story. She has had about 6 hours of sleep since Monday, been torn and sewn up with what looked like a crocheting needle, has dealt with a newborn baby and an inept new daddy (that has somehow managed to lock himself out of his car 3 times this week....oh yes, and the week isn't over yet), is dealing with the frustration of breastfeeding and the differing advice about how to breastfeed from 2 doctors, 8 nurses, numerous family members, some friends, and a husband that knows nothing about the subject, and all the while can't stop smiling while she enjoys her new little baby boy. I love her so much.
Secondly, Covey is my new best friend, or BFF as the kids call it these days. I can't get enough of this kid. We laugh at the same jokes and finish each others' sentences. I part my hair on the right, he parts his hair on the right. He messes up his clothes, I mess up my clothes. Last night we watched the Aggies on TV for the first time together, and I'm pretty sure Covey had something to do with the victorious outcome. Still not convinced we're one in the same? Well close your eyes, and imagine a boy that cries, huffs, burps, toots, eats, poops, and sleeps....you got the image?....okay, now open your eyes. Did you picture Covington? If so you were wrong, that was myself I was describing, but guess what? You weren't too far off because Covington likes to do the same things. I love my son.
For those Bible readers out there a little tidbit bit that may interest you: Covey has arms like Esau. But don't worry he would never trade his birthright for porridge...maybe breast milk, but never porridge. I'm not sure if the Bible tidbit segment will become a regular addition to this blog or not, so if you don't like the scriptures don't let this last part discourage you from returning.
