10 Year Anniversary

It was the greatest getting away with Matt. I missed the boys like crazy, but it was so nice to be reminded how we are with each other without the added grief and stress that the boys add when we're out trying to do something. I don't know how our relationship has turned out so nicely! Does that sound bad? Well, we were just a couple of dumb kids rushing into marriage. We had NO idea what we were doing. The first 2 years were sort of awful. The next 2 years were better but still awful at times. Then, things got better by leaps and bounds! And today, I feel like we were made for each other. Wading through those rough times was so worth it to get to where we are now. No one gets me like Matt does. He's always trying to make me happy. And he truly does.

Highlights of our 2 day, 1 night getaway:
-Shopping! Feeling ok about spending money on ourselves! Matt: 4 shirts, new flip flops. Julia: a bracelet, earrings, and a necklace, sunglasses, comfy flip flops, 3 tops and a dress.
-Our deliciously comfortable king-size bed.
-Dinner at Glitretind. Trying new, fancy flavors! $140 meal for $35. I never get good deals, so this felt good!
-The hot tub on our private balcony at sunset.
-The hot air balloon ride. We witnessed a marriage proposal!
-Experiencing Midway on a Polaris Ranger. Getting only slightly lost in the mountains.
-Cafe Galleria: tables outside, listening to live music, delicious Italian food, and watching the couples across the street dressed up for their square dancing competition.
-Laughing! Feeling relaxed!

I think it just might be enough to last me to our 20 year trip.
