Thanksgiving sure was a fun time this year. The Meldrums made a trip up and we got to spend some special time with Uncle Nick, Aunt Stacey, Mitchell, Faye and THIS little man!!

Our friends and us got together for a little Thanksgiving dinner at the church the Saturday before. It was delish and fun and these 3 boys had a great time playing and eating pie together.

On Thanksgiving Day we stopped by my dad's side of the family to see everybody and Nick's family one last time. Covey had a great time playing basketball with Mitchell and gave him a good hug goodbye.

Oh, Nixon, I miss you already!

Here we are in the Mantua church for the Nelson Thanksgiving. Matt's dad did those decorations himself. Impressed?

The Cousins! (minus a few)

On to the Games!

The slide actually needs water to be... slidey. So they needed a little assistance from Uncle Jay.

Grandpa Glen and Grandma Opal.

Matt's parents... looking at the ads. Poor Terry has a Black Friday headache already.

Covey's favorite on the menu: Chocolate Pie! "MmmmmmmBOY!"

The next day starts the Christmas season for most people and we like to conform. As we set up the tree, this is where Covey camped out.... wedged between the tree and the wall with a couple of toys.
It's done!

Covey does a really good job not touching the tree even though he's obsessed with it!

The next day, it's off to the Ogden Christmas Parade with the fam. It's a cute little parade. Short. Horses. Lighted floats. Star Wars characters. And Santa!

Matt appears to be in some distant train of thought, studying for his orthopaedics test that was coming up.

But Covey's favorite part by far? THE BANDS! He loves marching bands. He played the drums on Matt's head everytime one went by. (I didn't realize it was hurting Matt til I saw his face in this picture.)

After the parade we convened to my mom's house for soup and scones. Mmmmmm. After eating the kids turned on a dancing game on the Wii. Covey and Lucie tore it up!

Covey don't take no breaks! (I just think he looks so cute here.)

Lucie contrasted Covey's wild flailing moves with her get-low dance style.
Yup. No one puts Grandma in the corner.

Next up on the Holiday fun... Temple Square. (Covey loves to talk/sing about temples. Whenever he sees one he shouts, "The temple! I wanna go there someday!") He looks a little blighted here because all he wanted to do was push this stroller, not stop for pictures.

Knock Knock! Can Covey come in? (He really really wanted to go in.)

Matt taught Covey about throwing a penny in the fountains and we had to spend the rest of our time scouring the grounds for more pennies. He also desperately wanted to grab the floating lights. Who knew temple square was all about temptations?

We also checked and rechecked any purses or backpacks hoping to find any kind of coin, token, or button that would work. Luckily the idea for hot chocolate let us move on.

Yay for Christmas! I sure love this time of year. And this one's proving to be the best one yet now that Covey can get into it. Tonight he told me he wants to be Santa when he grows up. :) I hope all of you have a super fun and Christ-filled Christmas this year!

Seeing Covey break out your old cheerleading moves is a little disturbing. I'm very jealous of your tree and the Thanksgiving bouncy slide. I'm not sure which one I want more.
Seriously. The only thing missing is him shouting "READY O-K."
LOVE!!!
Your pictures look great! I love to see all you guys do with your little guy...he will have so many fun memories! That is cute he loves the marching bands...maybe a saxophone player, like his dad?? We hope you got our Christmas card, and you have a very merry one!!
