Best Christmas Ever

This was my favorite Christmas ever! Covey made it all so much darn fun.

At my family party. Covey and (his second cousin) Cooper were so cute together. Aren't they so handsome? Cooper's almost a year older (I think) and so he may have gotten a little annoyed at Covey following him around. But he was super nice to him and I'm glad there's at least one boy in the family about his age.
Are they having an awkward moment here?

My beautiful sister and mom. There sure are a lot of empty cups around them...
Covey's present at the party were two new lift-the-flap church books for Sacrament meeting.

The "Minute To Win It" games were the highlight of the night. First, we squeezed clementines in between our legs and tried dropping them into cups on the ground. And to brag for a minute, I got all 5 of mine in. I did not take pictures of it becuase of its questionable appearance. Then we played shake the ping pong balls out of the box on your bum. This one was perfect because even the little kids could play. Winning must be in our genes, 'cause Covey danced his out in record time! (Cutest thing I've ever seen! )
At the Nelson family party, Covey played a Wise Man in the Nativity story. Ah! He looked so good! And he kept his costume on the entire time we were waiting for everyone to get organized and then his turn on the stage. But what did he do the second he got on stage? Pulled off his head piece and threw it behind a ladder leaning against the wall. Then, he almost walked right off the stage making my pregnant self lurch up and run to save him. But he made up for it by giving baby Jesus a kiss before he exited stage left.
Covey's presents from Grandma and Grandpa Nelson were a very big hit. A Winnie the Pooh, a Panda we pretend is Po from Kung Fu Panda, and a talking Winnie the Pooh that does puppet shows! Po and Pooh are now must haves in his bed every nap and night.

Christmas Eve kicked off with a Donut Day from Grandma Lori.

That night, we had a delicious turkey dinner, made cookies for Santa...

...and opened and played Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Santa Came!!

Coming down the stairs.

Opening presents took almost all day. We let Covey stop and play with the things he was really excited about, like Buddy and Tiny...

...and lots of play food. In fact, to encourage him to open more presents we had to tell him, "Maybe this one has more food in it!"

Doctoring Grandma up with his new Dr. kit. Now he can be just like Daddy!

Grandma Lori brought him a mini tramp which he was ecstatic over. He went straight to doing all sorts of tricks and crazy moves. Here he is showing us his muscles in one of his new dress-up costumes.

Blast off!

Scaring Grandpa Mike in his scary dinosaur costume.
It was so nice to stay home all day and let Covey enjoy all of his new things. We were so thankful for the grandparents that were able to come down and make it more special. Matt even got to skype with his little brother on his mission and talk to him for a little bit. And for inquiring minds... Matt got a new phone (he was one of only 3 people still using a flip phone in his class at school) and a big, tall tool chest. I got a Kindle Fire! I gave Matt a pretty long list of ideas and he came up with that on his own and it's better than anything I had thought of. Good job, Matt!

After Christmas events I'll hopefully get pics up of: Jackson Hole, potty training, and Matt's white coat ceremony at school.
