Get ready for 40 pictures!
Covey got an early Christmas present this year because he was long overdue for a bigger car seat. Thank you to Nick and Stacey for the loaner that got us by until now... but as you can see, Covey won't miss it.

I just liked his face in this one.

We got our family pictures done, but they really didn't turn out the way I expected. There was a crazy snowstorm that day and so instead of having them at a park, the photographer changed the location to her mom's house. And I think she was rushed because there was a ton of people there. They just aren't very good, but here's a nibble anyway.

I took this picture to show how many accidents Covey is having these days. This was during a week where it seemed like he was getting a new owwie (how do you spell that?) every day. You can see a bruise on his forehead and a scratch on his chin here.

This is at my mom's side family party. It was way fun, like always. Here's my cute boys, just chillin'.

Covey's turn for a present!

Stacking cups for the tub. He likes 'em.

Letting Cov pick out his own lunch.

At our friends' Ugly Sweater party. Matt almost won!

Covey and his best bud, Kayson.
The other night Kayson came over to play and I have never seen Covey happier. He was verging on hyper! He is such a good little friend, following Kayson wherever he goes and playing whatever he wants to play. It is sooo cute.

I was really happy at the party to see Covey go up to everybody to get held or snuggled. For someone who goes most days not seeing anybody but Mom and Dad, he was very social and shared his love with everyone. I was too late getting the camera out, but he just crawled right into Steve's lap and snuggled right in. It was awesome... for Steve! If you look closely in the background you'll see that Katie isn't too happy about it.

Christmas Eve's Eve was Matt's extended family party at the Mantua church house. Covey made a long-overdue friend in his cousin, Jensen, who is a year older than him.

Matt's mom brought this zebra out of the nursery and Covey thought it was great. I couldn't pick just one out of these two awesome pictures. This first one's his impression of Luke Perry in the movie "8 Seconds".

Here, he's enjoying some kitchen time with cousins, Rachel and Jarom.

Perfect smile, Cov-Boat!

Getting lots of loves from Grandma Nelson.

Oh, those rascally siblings.... Buzz, Emily, Jon, and Debby with Jensen.

Christmas Eve was a very sunny day, you probably remember. And big boy car seats don't come with a shade! Say what? I know! But that's what sunglasses are for. Did you hear that, Covey? That's what sunglasses are for! So, leave them on for more than a minute next time.

At Grandpa Mike's Christmas Eve party, complete with talent show. Covey's talents included waving bye-bye, giving a kiss and dancing.

That night we opened our new jammies and our Christmas book from Grandma Lori.

This was my failed attempt at neighbor treats. They were supposed to be rice krispy treats made with white chocolate instead of marshmallow, but I guess they're made with marshmallow for a reason because when I tried to cut them they turned to crumbs. Sorry all you neighbors who still got a plate of crumbly treats. Next year, my mom's oreo balls... they never fail.

Santa Came!

Grandpa joined us for breakfast before heading off to the airport to see Nick in Texas.

Covey got some books, puzzles, an animal pop-up toy, foam sports balls, Mega Blocks, toy cell phone, new snack treats, crayons and drawing paper, and church pants. I think his favorites are the balls. He gets on his knees and holds a ball up in both hands like he's offering up a sacrifice (right, Todd?). It's so funny, what is he thinking when he does that?

On Christmas Day at the Mantua town party. Does the sweater look familiar? Yes, it's his ugly sweater from the party. I thought it was ugly on the hanger in the DI, but once it was on him I decided it was really cute and perfect for Christmas. Just goes to show ya, everything looks ugly at the DI and everything looks good on Covey!

Covey really liked looking at this girl through the chair hole. He did this for quite awhile.

At the party, Santa does a raffle and all three of our tickets got called. Covey won a big stuffed lion, a teddy bear and a symphony bar.

When Covey went up to get this lion with Matt, Santa said that the lion was too good and he wanted to keep it. Covey answered by lunging for the lion and hugging it. The whole crowd "Aaaahhh"ed. It was way cute.

Jensen and Covey blocking traffic. ..."Go around, People!"

After having a fun, relaxing visit with Grandma Lori, we went home and Covey finally got to play with his toys.

Santa gave Covey some "training toothpaste" in his stocking, which was good, because Covey does have 5 teeth now! (4 on top and 1 on bottom) So, Christmas night, he got his first brushing. He liked it!

It was a great Christmas. I am so excited for how much more Covey will get into it next year. Oh, and don't worry, me and Matt didn't go without. We bought a new car earlier in the month, a white '07 Kia Optima. And I surprised Matt with a new TV. Goodbye big honker , hello 2 extra feet of space in the living room!

Nick, I know how much you love a new post, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I love it...all of it! Covey's disgusted look face (in his sweater, maybe he doesn't like it, but it is cute) and his tongue sticking out on the zebra. He makes cute faces like Jackson. Oh, I love love love your blue curtains, they are cute! 5 teeth! He is on a roll. Is he walking yet, it looks like he is pretty close. YAY for a first Christmas, they are so fun!
What a fun Christmas! I love your family pics they are soooo cute! PS you guys look really skinny!!!
What a fun Christmas! I love the ugly sweaters, and agree that Matt should have totally won! Covey will love that spinney toy thing. Some friends of our have it, and Jackson enjoys it. Hope you had a fun day, love the new family pics, they really do look great!
#1: I LOVE that first family picture in the snow.
#2: I like Matt's ugly sweater.
#3: Your tree is gorgeous.
#4: Awesome picture of Nick.
I agree with Katie I love all four of those things too! I cannot believe how big Covey is looking these days, I am so excited to see him, he seriously is so darn cute! Your Christmas looks like you had a great one! Cant wait to see all of you!
P.S. Living with Nick I know he cant take a serious picture if his life depended on it, but that one I have to say is especially Nickesq (sp) Great Picture!
Why didn't you show us the one of you guys outside? I really like it. That little guy of yours is pretty cute. I think he needs some boots to match his cousin Jensen. I didn't think Matt's sweater was THAT ugly. Looked like he was trying to be JTT for Halloween. Can't wait to see all of you stud buckets. And thanks so much for thinking of me on my birthday. Especially enough to dig through your photos and find an extra flattering shot of me. You should print that put it in a frame and wrap it up for Stacey's birthday.
It looks like your christmas was very fun! And I really love your pictures!!
Covey is getting so big!
I'm sorry we didn't meet up at christmas time, it's kinda crazy around the holidays.
