Even Covey!!

Covey was so good at the airports. He loves new experiences and almost always surprises us with how well he does.

Waiting in the Salt Lake airport. Covey can hardly contain himself. We flew to
Pheonix and then to Austin.

Covey and Grandma

He actually fell asleep! I was amazed. I gave him bottles when we were going up and down and his ears never seemed to bother him, which was a relief.
From Austin, Nick and Mitchell picked us up from the airport. We drove 2 hours to College Station, home of Texas A & M. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was surprised at how normal it seemed. It
could've been anyplace in Utah. Except everything was more spread out.

When we got to Nick and Stacey's house, they had a present for Covey! Nick had made him some pajama pants... aren't they awesome? I was really impressed. And Covey thinks they're
sooo comfy.

Matt playing with the kids.

Matt playing with the kids some more... Faye's so excited for Matt, finally learning to put the shapes in the right spot.

The next day was so much fun. We went to this place called, Rudy's, to get really southern BBQ. Gee whiz, it was good! After you're done eating it, you don't feel like you ate enough because you hardly had to chew, it just melts in your mouth.
Mmmm-mm.

All the kids at Rudy's. Lucie, Faye, Covey, Mitchell.

Again, at Rudy's, but taken with our camera and not my mom's fancy Nikon. Matt thinks this looks like a boy band poster.

Then, we went to Chuck E Cheese's, per Mitchell's request. It was actually really fun. It was a lot smaller than I remember it as a kid. But, there was lots to do. I took Covey up the playground and he LOVED looking out over everybody through this train-tube. He stayed up there quite awhile, smacking the glass, watching everybody wave to him, and yelling things to hear his echo.

They had this tiny carousel that we put Covey on, too. We started out with our hand on his back, but he held on so good, we really didn't have to. He loved this too, and probably could have done it all day. He looked so adorable doing it, I can't believe he's big enough for things like that!

Two best buds being
twinners.

When you ask Mitchell what he wants to be when he grows up, he says "A baseball player!" Saturday we played driveway baseball.... and I hit a few homers.

Saturday, was Stacey's birthday. Mom stayed home with the kids while we went out to eat at Cheddar's. It was really yummy and fun. I really miss hanging out with those guys. And I hardly ever get to hang out with my sister, Katie, so this trip was a great way to get to be with her, too.

Isn't that an awesome bottle? I loved it. Covey couldn't be happier
maxin and
relaxin with Uncle Nick. And Faye was never far away from where Covey was. She was so DANG cute! She talks so much now. She was always saying "hi
juju" "hi covey" and helping us take care of him. She'd jump right in to help us change his diaper, getting the wipes out and ready for us. She always knew when he wanted a drink and would bring us his
sippy cup. And she let us know if he was headed for trouble. What a sweet sweet angel. I love her! She is SO pretty in this picture!

Prayer time! I love Mitchell's eyes squeezed shut and Faye's bowed head. What good parents these kids have!

Sunday, going to church. Nick and Stacey serve in the nursery, so Matt went in there with Covey. He loved it! He did get pushed down once, Matt said. But, I went in there to check on him and he never looked at me, just so enthralled with all the kids and toys. I sure wish he could go in there every week.

Monday, we took a picnic to the park by their house and played more baseball.

Covey's first at bat. We hit it, too!

Mom was the family photographer, snap-snap-snappin away.

Tuedsay morning, a 6:00 am flight home. Covey was so tired, but still such a good boy. It was sad to leave, but nice to come home, too- except for how horrendously cold it was here. Covey had a bad fever the next two days after we got back, I guess just worn down from all the traveling. He's better now and already wondering when we can go back! Sigh. And I am too.

Love the Cove-zilla picture! How funny are you guys? I won't be forgetting the boy band picture, maybe I should get an autograph copy right now.
I have always wondered about those bottles with the tubes. He likes it? I might have to get one. It looks like you guys had a ton of fun!
I bought Hunter a pair of pants last month and the brand name is Covington! Funny, huh? Oh and I agree, Faye looks gorgeous in that picture!
I am so glad somebody got a picture of Covey on the roof. I was worried we wouldn't have proof. It was too bad Covey hated that train tube so much. Thanks for the visit. You guys are the greatest.
See ... Texas really isn't that bad! Looks like you guys had lots of fun
Fun, fun, fun! That's awesome you guys could take that trip!! What an adventure for little Covey! BTW, where is his name from? Do you have that story posted?? He has grown soooo much!! And I love your hair Julia!
Okay, so those pictures of me on the plane are awful...did I really look that bad? At least you didn't post the "coffin" picture...so thanks for that! I must have been napping when Covey got up on the roof.
Caption for photo one (read in a very deep, growly voice) AUNT KATIE--THEY WARNED YOU NOT TO WAKE ME UP FROM MY NAP. THEY TOLD YOU YOU COULDN'T LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES. YOU DIDN'T LISTEN, YOU HAD TO KNOCK ON THE WINDOW-- NOW YOU PAY!!
Mom, you did NOT look bad that day. I thought you looked cute, with your wavy hair, I think I even said that. It must be my crappy camera. Really.
