Easter

So yeah, Easter was a week ago, and this post is way overdue....sorry. The weather stunk as many of you know, but we still had fun visiting family on Sunday.
First we went to Aunt Cristie's to eat and hunt for eggs and prizes left by Easter Bunny Grandma. Covey wasn't in a great mood, however, and let the cold weather bog him down. It was a weird Easter, all blustery and cold. But, still fun to see family. Now that Covey's walking, he was able to keep up a bit with his second cousin, Cooper, and that was fun to watch.

We then drove up to Mantua and saw the Nelson Klan. More eating, more egg hunting, and more laughs. The Nelson egg hunt was by far the most successful for Covey. It was like the whole concept finally clicked. He even carried his own basket. Covey got the chance to play with his cousin Jensen, as you'll see later on. He likes to follow him around, and we thought the friendship was one sided, but when we got there Jensen was yelling his name.

Julia put Covey through some intense training to prepare him for the upcoming egg hunts. Remember in the movie "The Cutting Edge" when the bratty figure skater and the hockey player finally find their groove together? Well here Covey is experiencing that same exhilaration as he gets the hang of the whole egg hunting thing.

Covey and Julia are on the back row next to Britt and Kayson. This picture only shows about a 1/4th of the people that showed up.

Sadly Covey's basket wouldn't look much better after the hunt. He only had the chance to get one egg, as you will see if you watch the movie at the bottom. Covey looks Chinese here 'cause it was sunny.

Again, it was really sunny.

Eggs in hubcaps were the easy pickin's.

Making sure he got all of the eggs out before moving on.

This is Helaman Nelson (he belongs to Matt's brother Jason), we just love those cheeks!

Covey liked hanging out with his cousin Jensen in this playroom aka "the hideout" at the Nelsons. His favorite thing to do was play earthquake, which involved shaking this kitchen set back and forth and yelling like John Cusack in 2012.

Jensen thought it was a real earthquake....either that or he's thinking, "man this kid is crazy!"

He sat with Grandpa Nelson for quite a while, but of course when the camera came out he wouldn't sit still for pictures. This is the only one in which you could see Covey's face clearly.

You two could really make some money with this movie making thing. You are great at it, so funny.

First birthdays, first Easters, first Christmases, first Halloweens, they are all a bit hard. Why aren't kids born with the innate sense of getting free stuff? Especially when it is just laying around? It should be given to us a birth, then we would have a great start!

He did pretty good though.

Great movie! Sabre Dance was an excellent choice. I really liked the little cowboy holding the football as if it were a bazooka.

Matt you're funny and you have more relations than you can shake a stick at. Covey certainly did find his groove but I thought it was more like Napolean and Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory.

It is so fun to see your little guy, and how much he is growing! Looks like a fun Easter...it is good to see Matt's parents. It is weird that his dad was my seminary teacher many moons ago...he was one of my favorites! Hope you guys are doing good, you look great!
