Sorry for the nudity... but that's how it happened! I gave Covey a bath Friday morning and while I was about to put on his diaper, I decided I needed some Desitin (you can see it in the background). So, I ran downstairs to get it and when I got back up, Covey had rolled from his back to his tummy all by himself! I was so excited, I had to run back downstairs to grab the camera. He had done it a couple times before, but his arm was always still stuck under him so I didn't count it. Then this morning, after he had slept 10 hours!! without ever having to go in to help him back to sleep, I went in to get him and he was unswaddled, sideways from the way I laid him and on his tummy again! So, I guess you could say he's a pro now.
...UPDATE: we were at some friends' house for dinner and Covey was laying on a blanket on the grass. He rolled onto his tummy, then back onto his back! We were all cheering and I couldn't believe it. He rolled onto his tummy like 3 more times, but only did it onto his back that once. It was like he was trying to "steamroll" Benjamin who was laying next to him. Good Job, Covster!
A note from Dad: Sure, when Covey rolls over and is lying naked on the ground Julia is all excited about it, but when I did the exact same thing the other day, no praise...no pictures.
Most of you have heard me talk about how we're losing my brother and his family to the Longhorn State.. or the Big Sky State.. or the Alamo State.. or the High School Football State.. or whatever Texas's claim to fame is. He flew down there last week and found a place to live. So, if you were curious about what a duplex in Texas looks like, wonder no more.
A note from Dad: Texas actually has a few claims to fame not mentioned here. They invented the phrase "well, yal can't be sure 'til ya taste it", which was the inspiration behind the direct to DVD movie "Never Had a Date" that sold over 500 copies in Mississippi . The first ever Chili Bean Museum is found in Texas El Paso, they have a bean there that looks just like Barry Manilow, for serious. And of course, Gaviston Texas is world reknown for it's semiannual "Was that a belch, or flatulence?" contest, no need to go into too many details.
Here's my big time news reporter sister, Katie, who's about to have a baby any day now. And, YES, that is Utah Jazz player and general heartthrob, Kyle Korver. She's interviewing him here about some charity work he did in Ogden. You can read her FRONT PAGE article in Friday's Standard Examiner. (Matt said that only in Utah would you see a basketball player in an interview with a lady who's about to pop.)
A note from Dad: At this moment Kyle's thinking to himself, "if she goes into labor, I'm not afraid to help, but I gotta remember to take my Rolex off".
My cute, little friend since we were 5th grade Riverdale Roadrunners, stopped by on Friday. Isn't she so pretty?? I've got some plans for Covey to marry her daughter (or yours, Amanda!) someday so we can be family.
A note from Dad: Let me apologize to both Amanda and Leanna here, the arranged marriage will actually take place with Mark and Ashley's little girl Sadie, or their next girl to be born this year that is still nameless.
On Friday, (wow! everything happened on Friday) we had a barbecue with some neighbors at the park across the street. We ate, played volleyball, and then sat out in the round-a-bout island to watch the fireworks up on the hill. It was so fun and really the only thing we did that felt "4th of July-ish".
Here's the 3 boys, Cov, Kays, and Ben. (Can you see Kayson's cute little mohawk? I love it! I can't do anything with Covey's hair, I've decided. It's too long on top.)
Covey decided to really work his dancer's legs, but Kayson wasn't scared to still show his affection. Awwww.... they are SO cute! Maybe if Ben would stop punching Kayson in the head he'd get his hand held, too.
The crew.
I think Todd still had fun, despite his hatred for mosquitoes.
A note from Dad: Notice the concentration it takes Adam (on the right) to text his mom and ask for permission to stay up past 10:00.
Covey's first fireworks. He slept almost the whole time. Can I just brag about him for a minute? He is SUCH a good baby! Sometimes at nap time I can even lay him down while he's still wide awake and he'll put himself to sleep without any help from me! I just think he's awesome.
On Saturday, my family had a barbecue at my Uncle Ron's house. A good time was had by all. Especially this little man who kept saying "Hey, Mom, grab me a rootbeer."
Us, with our two little loves that will soon be leaving us. They may not look like they love us, but they do. I promise.
My other niece, Ella with her cousin Faye, dressed as little twinner Liberty Ladies. Can you see how Covey is a little outside the box in this family? I love how Ella's properly holding her dress down and posing with her arm around Faye, while Faye's like, "Here's all the smile you're gettin'. Now can I drink my Capri Sun?"

such cute pictures of the boys! I wish we had one of Covey steamrolling Ben, that was too funny. I was laughing about it all night :)
Soo cute! I love that new picture of Covey!! Where did you take that and where on earth did you find a basket like that? I love the ones of the boys! Kayson looks like a giant next to them haha!!
Where to start? So much good stuff on this post. I do love the new pic of Covey at the top of the blog. I also like the picture of the three musketeers. The big kid in the middle is obviously the ring leader and Cov and the other his scrappers.
O he left already? Good luck, and let me know if ya need anything or just get bored!
